Mr P

I think Mr P cares about the narrator because he knows that the americans are trying to keep them down and keep them seperate. He thinks that the narrator is a bright kid and he is able enough to leave the rez and show the americans that they arn’t bad people. He thinks the narrator can make a life and succeed.

Diary Of A Part Time Indian chapter summary (1st 3)

This book is about the narrator, and we dont know his name, and he lives in a rezovation for native indians. He tells us about his best friend is called Rowdy. He gets beaten up a lot because he had brain damage and has physical deformities.

Rowley and the narrator have similar families in that they both are alcaholics and rowley’s are abusive to him.

The narrator is a smart kid who likes school and has no friends apartfrom Rowdy who is like his bodyguard as he is mad and strong. They were born on the same day and have a great bond between themselves.

The narrator is in eighth grade and he has a teacher named mister P. He breaks his nose and then the teacher opens up about his earlier life and the narrator’s sister.

Rowdy And The Narrator’s Relationship:

-Best friends “You are my hero.”

-Rowdy has someone to talk to “He is the only person who listens to me.”

-The narrator gets accepted for who he is and protection from bullies “Rowdy has protected me since I was born.”

-They both have mental problems. “I was born all broken and twisted, and he was born mad.”

– Both pairs of parents are alcoholics and abusive. “My parents are drunks, too but they arnt mean like that.”
