Among thieves is a book about an assassin who is working for the boss of the dark side of a city a long time ago that is ruled by a group of imperials and their leader has 3 reincarnations and so the assassin has to stop a war before it happens so the sashes-imperials don’t find out because they are the strongest men in the entire empire by a long way.the assassin has a friend sworn by oath- a Degan – a legendary swordsman from ancient times owned by a grey prince-unknown.the earliest part of the book is about him torturing someone for information and then it goes on to his usual life. After that it becomes about an assassination and also he is set on a mission from his boss and goes to a town of poor people-criminals and they all want him dead so he ends up being ambushed by almost an entire town and finds an escape.they get out through the sewers and hear a conversation about a book that the assassin dosn’t want to have after he ends up going on a long quest and nearly dying to get it- he has to fight two white sashes to get the book. And then he finds out what the book is, a special code and it was named a strangely ancient name. And this all happens in Illdreca. Then we find out that the assassin is called Drothe and his sister is royalty. What now happens now is that he goes into a dream world controlled by the grey prince but he doesn’t know that just yet. When he finds out, he talks to Degan who refuses to talk about it. He said that a secret kept for 100 years must stay a secret kept for longer.
